The Hands Behind Kanchudhan
In small workshops across India, skilled artisans wake before dawn to shape raw brass, bronze, and copper into vessels of beauty and purpose. These craftspeople carry knowledge handed down for generations — techniques of heating, hammering, and hand-turning that no machine can replicate.
At Kanchudhan, we partner directly with these artisan families. We provide fair wages, consistent work, and a platform to showcase their craft to the world. When you choose Kanchudhan, you are not just buying cookware — you are supporting a livelihood, preserving a tradition, and bringing a piece of India's soul into your home.
Every scratch, every hammer mark, every slight variation in shape tells the story of human hands at work. This is not a flaw — it is the signature of authenticity.

Got Questions?
Yes, absolutely. Our brass cookware comes with a food-grade tin (kalai) lining that prevents direct contact between the metal and acidic food. Bronze is naturally safe for serving and eating. Both metals have been used in Indian kitchens for centuries.
With regular care, the tin lining lasts 10-12 months. Avoid using metal spoons that scratch the surface, and hand wash with mild soap. When the lining wears off, you can get it re-tinned — we offer a re-tinning service and also sell a DIY maintenance guide.
Brass and bronze are not compatible with induction cooktops. They work beautifully on gas stoves, electric coil stoves, and traditional chulhas. For induction users, you can use an induction adapter plate.
The easiest way is to rub with a mixture of lemon juice and salt, then rinse with warm water. For stubborn tarnish, make a paste of tamarind and water. Avoid harsh chemical cleaners. A light patina over time is natural and adds character.
